@wideaudio Totally agree with you on this one. Remember listening to "Notorious" the album, on vinyl, nervously for the first time. By then Duran had slimmed down to a trio, and I was anxious as to how they would sound with the new line up.Played the L.P., listened to the first track which was released, then with bated breath listened for the next track. When the intro for "American Science" started, I just knew there and then that this was going to be my favourite song on the album, no doubts.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing at the time..Duran was moving away from pop and more twords realism. People couldnt connect with the darker aspects of Duran, I guess...I loved it though! Best album ever!
