They kinda did notice at the new sentai goseiser they have a bit of old school look a like but awesome suits.

I agree that SPD was a good season, but RPM does have a few points over it.
Firstly, the zords, yes they look stupid but the megazords look pretty awesome, Valvemax Megazord for example.
The characters, unlike Overdrive, feel like their actual people. Sure the choice for Red Ranger this year is still yet to impress me, but they still feel like who they're acting: a bunch of young adults in a post-apocolyptic world trying to save whats left.
Oh yeah, and OO never had a ranger who was ex-mafia
