I like how people are suggesting it was a manual transmission, he obviously turned the car off while it was still in D and then cranked it and wanted to rev the engine to see if it was running right and the car took off. Automatic transmissions take off pretty fast compared to a manual unless you do a boost take off. that car was an automatic not a manual and the guy working on it has no common sense to check the car before working on it
