Alcantara (classical guitar, Baden Powell cover)

A beautiful fingerstyle piece for classical guitar - this song conjures up feelings of nostalgia and rueful longing, remembering absent friends and your time with them, etc etc. I didn't really do it justice but I'll keep practicing.

After working on original material I realized how time-consuming/difficult it is to learn other people's works...thank goodness for muscle memory. I was able to commit most of this song to memory but resorted to reading off the tablature page for the last 30 seconds or so (maybe you can tell when I start to glance down more haha).

I recorded this in my temporary housing for Fall Quarter - I think the acoustics in the room are a lot worse than my previous digs so I apologize for the sound quality. Additionally I was sick this weekend and wasn't feeling quite 100% during the recording of this video. Finally, I'm showing off the knitted cap I bought in Japan...which I really like haha.

Next cover will definitely be something more metal - however I am enjoying the feel/sound of nylon strings so look out for a few more fingerstyle acoustic works as well. Take care and thanks for watching.

@foxguy101 Heh, it's always nice to have some diversity in your arsenal, sometimes all that's on hand is a classical and then you'll find a lot of songs you learnt on electrical don't translate that well =P thanks for the kind words and for watching!
