Brilliant series, I was married at the time to a girl from Jersey which we used to visit several times a year to see her parents, old school friends etc. We would watch the episodes and spot where the various scenes were filmed. Was at a summer fete on the island and John Nettles was booked to open it, he turned up driving that maroon coloured sports car, nice bloke, I believed he lived on Jersey for some years.

We could do with a few Jim Bergeracs around today,on the mainland, not just the sunny bit, bless you John. xx

@BBERGERACC i believe they are both John Fletcher episodes. I've not seen 'assasin' but 'a man of sorrows' is brilliant as was his 'Avenge O Lord'. I don't think Fletcher even has a wiki page but he did some super episodes. Wow a sort of Bergerac night on BBC4 this Monday I believe. Only got series 1,2 and 4 so i cant say but my fave's would include 'a man of sorrows', lots of other favorites such as 'a miracle every week' and so many others, really super.

The theme was written by George Fenton.

@BBERGERACC My favourite episode is The Assassin too!
It would be good, when John Nettles finishes making Midsomer Murders for ITV, if he skipped over to the BBC, to make one last feature episode of Bergerac!!!!!!!!!!

haha....that was an old comment of mine....don't make a fuss...I just felt like teasing.I'm french born and and I'm not set against english people... quite the contrary....
-
@mokacode A little ignorance here; I don't know where you are from but English people do not hate French people (any more than any other foreigners). Are you aware that Bergerac is not meant to be an Englishman? He is a Channel Islander, hence the hybrid English/French name.

Always thought John Nettles would have made a good James Bond
