From August 1996: The debut of "FOX After Breakfast" with Tom Bergeron & Lauri Hibberd which lasted one year. The show was more irrelvant fluff and silly antics that bored most viewers--thus--its demise. Part 1 of 2

  • WBRC became a FOX Owned-and-Operated station on September 1st, 1996 i was in 1st grade and was 6-years old before i turned 7 in October of 1996

  • I wouldn't have changed a cotton pickin' thing about this show. I would have called it Breakfast Time on Fox, given them two hours, told them not to change a thing, and went right after the Today Show and Good Morning America. Within a year, this would have been beating them in the ratings, no doubt in my mind.

  • I recall Vicki Lawrence taking over the show.

  • The thing I loved about Breakfast Time was it didn't take it's self to seriously.

FOX YOU SCREWED WITH A MASTERPIECE AND KILLED IT!

    YOU SUCK!!!

  • I remember watching this episode live. You could actually feel Tom and Laurie's ennui oozing through the screen. They both knew the suits had screwed it up so much it wasn't going to work. But they had to try. FAB is a textbook example of executive micromanagement dooming a business project.

  • @phillyvideofan Where Fox's meddling murdered the once proud and insanely awesome program. But I was still a fan til Bergeron's last day.

  • Thumbs Down!!! Dislike! I also have this on tape as well. After waiting the whole summer of 1996 for this premiere, it was one of the biggest TV disappointments of all time. This show was NO COMPARISON to FX "Breakfast Time," which was one of the most entertaining, fun-filled shows of the 1990s. "Breakfast Time" should've never left FX. :(

  • Puppets on adult shows are usually a bad idea. That puppet looks cheap.
