I was there from 1987-1990. I lived in Coranoso Point base housing right up the hill from the Windward ferry landing..you take a right at the top of that hill, then go about 1/4 mile or so and take another right like you were going up the hill- my house was the first house on the left at that corner. Nice video brings back a lot of memories!!!

Guantanamo bay is the only one cuban territory who really have freedom, god let some day my country cuba have the same freedom, we must leave our own country finding the freedom, thanks to all american people for accept cubans in their territory. god bless america.

Loved it. I was also there in the mid 90s, just after i graduated high school. For three months i had nothing to do but stay in the ocean and stay drunk on the Phil-Am Pier. :p. The coral reefs there are glorious. I remember a well known iguana there named "Chopper", he was a beast. And the Banana Rats were a trip as well. Man i sure miss those sunsets, as the ferry would travel back and fourth. Thanks for sharing. =)

Enjoyed vidio, thanks brought back bitter sweet memories 1961-1963 when I stood guard on fence line, gate duty and A.U.W. posts then on our days off set in mine fields. Lost a good friend' tripped his own mine off. At least he has a chance of a ressurection to paradise earth.

I was stationed there in 1968-1969. We didn't have those barracks when I was there. Our's were on the hill behind the Barrel Club (if thats still there). And we SURE DIDN'T HAVE McDONALDS. And when I was first there, we still had to wear Dress Whites. I worked in the BOAT SHED. Is there still a Tin Can tied to buoy 18?

cant be that we waste a beautiful shore line for a ugly monster !

Thanks for making this video. A definite delight for those of us who spent time there. Some of my fondest memories of childhood are from GTMO, truly an amazing experience. The one duty station I would love to revisit !
GREAT video!! My husband and I were stationed there from 87-90 (we met there in 1987!!) and again from 92-94 - our oldest daughter was born there, and both of our daughter's and I were on the last evacuation plane out in '94 (anyone remember the t-shirts "will the last american refugee leaving Guantanamo Bay please turn out the lights?") We LOVED that place, and would go back in a heartbeat!
