Big Foot did not use a landing ramp which may have looked "cooler", but unfortunately what the video did not show was the injuries the driver received for landing so hard on a flat surface. Extensive back and neck injuries resulted. This is why they chose to use a landing ramp to attempt to stray away from unnecessary injuries. Looking cool in this case was not as important as staying healthy.

Go to the Guinness World Records website...Click on Explore Records...Type in "monster truck" and the record is listed as the "Longest Ramp Jump". Click that and there's your info.
Guinness has recognized the record, placed it on their website and it is slated to be included in the 2013 book as well.

..Yup, explosions and a plane sure helped it travel further. hmm.
And people seem to forget that the previous record was also held by Bigfoot, and that didn't exactly have the softest of landings either..

I'm unimpressed. Bigfoot jumped 202ft with a plane and explosions in the background. Bigfoot also landed with no landing ramp and launched from a much smaller take-off ramp.
