a short video summarizing some of the most important characteristics of students today - how they learn, what they need to learn, their goals, hopes, dreams, what their lives will be like, and what kinds of changes they will experience in their lifetime. Created by Michael Wesch in collaboration with 200 students at Kansas State University.

Sad reality? That outlook is archaic and has done nothing to solve the most pressing world problems...this video gets at that. You can see the negative in anything you want, but "the old way of doing things isn't working. So it's on us to do what we gotta do...to make some changes".

Eight books a year? Very sad. It is simply impossible for someone who doesn't read books to be educated. Trained, yes. Educated, no. Any student who only reads eight books a year is a living, breathing indictment of our education system. I am so sorry for that student who held up that sign. I hope that one day she has someone introduce her to the irreplaceable value of books.

21 countries, nice! If anything, the technology can bring the world together as one. Music is a great place to start.
