Here is one of my favourite SW books, essentially based on the original trilogy (very few pages are about the vintage expanded universe). One of my favourite figures reviewers, MrCorellian, recently encouraged me to review it. I highly recommend it to any Star Wars Fan: Anyone can have a great time looking at highly detailed top quality pictures of the characters, creatures, ships, filming models, and reading the captions and texts that describe them. Had to wait for quite a while before i could buy it. But it's worth the expense (around 100 bucks) I've also got the volume dedicated to the prelogy, which i'm less interested in, even if it remains a great book. I'll upload a general view of my SW books soon, so you'll just have to ask for the one you want me to review. BTW Lorne Peterson's book is entitled: « Sculpting a galaxy » and not « building a galaxy » as i mistakingly mentioned it. Hope you'll enjoy it. Feel free to rate & comment. More to come...

  • @NERFHERDER76 Yeah i really LOVE that book too. You can spend DAYS reading it and still have new details to discover a few weeks later. I'm getting the making of Empire Strikes Back book for Christmas. It should be great as well. I've got quite a great number of SW books actually. I'll probably review some of them. Glad ypu appreciated the review.

  • @MrCorellian We don't have Graiglist here, but the website "Leboncoin.fr" has exactly the same purpose and allows me to find affordable vintage oldies, even if you must still be careful of what you buy if you can't meet the seller to get what you bought. It's both local AND national: You just have to select your city, region or the whole country and it and allows you to buy online or to publish ads for free.

  • @darkscoutdave That is a very good idea! I might have to use that another year, though. I'm getting married the week before Christmas, so my wedding gifts are my Christmas, haha :D

I have been looking on eBay and Craigslist frequently, though! I don't know if Craigslist has a french website, but basically it's like local newspaper classified ads, only online! Like a giant garage sale on the internet. It's wonderful, because I can get things very cheap, as long as I can meet up with the seller.

  • @MrCorellian Hey, man, why don't you ask a book for Christmas ? I've never actually bought the SW books i have myself, 'cause some of them are much too expensive, even if you get a salary. I've asked for the The new SW book "The Making of The Empire Strikes Back" with tons of never-seen-before pics for Xmas for instance. I got the 3 volume encyclopedia last year. Parents & family are more than happy to listen to your suggestions when they know that you're going to be fond of their present!

  • @kristinaF54 And I totally want the 3 volume encyclopedia too! Ohhh, it looks so wonderful. I saw someone on Youtube review it. If only if only I wasn't a poor college student, lol. :D

  • @kristinaF54 Ah, yeah I have the COMPLETE visual dictionary. Oops! :D I like it, don't get me wrong. I just don't find too much to be *outstanding*. It has a catchy, fun to leaf through layout mixing pictures and words in a very visual way! But I don't feel like I learn anything new from it, except for names of objects/background characters. Also, all the photos feel very stock to me, like any photo is google-able. I love where I feel like the ONLY place I can see things are in THIS book.

  • @MrCorellian I'm confused, is the book you have The Ultimate Visual Guide (with Darth Vader on the cover) or the Complete Visual Dictionary (with Yoda on the cover)? If you're talking about the Visual guide (with Vader), I'd agree with you, it's not the best Star Wars book. But if it's the Visual Dictionary, I'd have to disagree, as I think its a very good reference book for the money. Although I've been trying to get the Encyclopedia of Star Wars (3 vols.) ever since I saw it come out.

  • @CrazySandtrooper Yeah, those pages are both instructive and surprising, since i had never imagined a sandcrawler and an AT-AT "walking" side by side. The most amazing thing being the amount of time & passion it takes to build such a comparison chart. Glad you liked it.

  • @CrazySandtrooper I thought that same thing! I also thought, "poor tiny rebel fleet!" The size comparison pages look really cool.
