Vergil owns Setsuna..even if he is badass and uber cheap

I have to disagree with that, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
And Trish is playable in DmC2. In DmC1, you get to play as the Legendary Dark Knight, but it's really just Dante in a different outfit with two new weapons that comes along with it.

It's actual name is "Shall Never Surrender." It's battle theme for Nero (only uses the first part of the song), and also the theme for the credit roll at the end of Devil May Cry 4

"The Time Has Come"...That's Nero (DMC 4) Battle song.

He was defeated in DMC3 by Dante. Mundus takes Vergil in, Vergil Becomes Nelo Angelo, and once again is defeated by Dante in DMC1. DMC2 is the only one in the series that has nothing to do with Dante or Vergil. DMC4 had Yamato, Vergil's Sword, so DMC2 was the only game where Dante wasn't necessary to the story.

I've played all 4. Dante was the character you played in DMC2, and yea, since he was the Son of Sparda he was relevent enough to be a hero in DMC2, but the story wasn't about him as much as the other games were. Even DMC4 was more relevant to Dante, even though Nero was more or less the main character. DMC2 was the only game in the series where Dante wasn't really needed, you could beat the whole game with a 2nd character, Lucia.

well if you look at it that way, you can say it the same way with DMC3 :S i played the whole game with vergil, which means that he isnt necessary to the story, or DMC1 where you can play as trish......

Not really. Vergil needed to be unlocked in the Special Edition unless you had a save file of the old DMC3, and even then, it's still an extra mode. DMC3 was originally released solely with Dante as the playable character. DMC2 was packed with 2 discs, and you could play as Lucia from the start, no strings attached, and her as a playable character was directly relevant to the story, whereas Vergil being playable in DMC3SE was just an add-on for the greatest hits release.
