We had a storm Wed. night . The owner of the Rav4 needed to get to Longbeach but there was a tree across his drivway . H lives on the beach so he went through the dunes and headed south . This week has seen some of the highest tides of the year . We had to drive up into the dunes in several places to get down the beach as the waves were hitting the base of the dunes . I thought his SUV was a 4x4 but on closer examination found it to be a 2 wheeler . I have no idea what made him think this would make it down the beach . WE had to pull it 1/2 mile down the beach to Cranberry approach . He tried to get over a sand drift that had a log buried under it . It took 11 freakan hours to download this 5 minutes of vid

  • Rav4 is a pretty good vehicle. I saw them performing good if though they are not real4x4. It's a Toyota after all. Anyway, what shocks me the most is WHY THE HELL would you take a 2wd SUV on the beach? It's no difference whether it an SUV or sedan, it's still a god damn 2wd.

We had a storm during the night and a tree had blown down across his driveway . He lives on the beach so he thought he couold just drive down the beach . He would have been fine if the tide had been out .

  • @HILLAUTOBODY Well if the guy has a good reason to do so, it's ok. But how many times did you, as a recovery truck driver, see people driving minivans and sedans on the beach? I've seen a LOT!!!

  • @VIDEOZAL

    Never enough .

I recomend beach dring for all 2 wheel drives . I got to pay my bills somehow

  • @HILLAUTOBODY BTW just out of the curiosity if it's not a big secret. How much do you charge for a recovery. Our local boys charge $500...

  • @VIDEOZAL

I charged him $185.00 I I have to go out in the water our out on a snad bar the price goes up . I also charge more if I have to put my cables out uinto the salt water . I base my charges on how much am I risking . If the risk factor is low I do not need to make as much .

y truck has pretty tight running gear so it isn't a big deal to get to easy ones like the Rav

    The number of the beast

  • People never learn

  • It's not so much that the car is crap-than it is-the idiot who drove it. I mean really, who drives a 2WD vehicle up to the water?
