I agree. Make the music optional as not everyone will enjoy it. For me, the ambient sounds in Stalker: SoC were most interesting.

The first time I played COC I didnt get scared by the bloodsuckers, The damn snorks got to me >_> and boars, Try walking out of freedom base only to have like 4 boars charge you as soon as you get done loading, I shot up a truck so fast my ass set on fire.

I like it, but I say it should be toggle able. Though I have to admit the music makes it easier, as you know something crazy is going on just by the soundtrack, as opposed to Chernobyl when someone could sneak up behind you and blow your brains out without you ever predicting it.
