Romain Grosjean shares his unique story with FTV - he went from GP2 to F1 only to return to GP2. He's already raced in seven GPs and of course is excited to return to F1 and prove to the world that he has his place at the top.
On F1: "Formula One is the best. It's the highest level in motorsports, and of course every driver wants to race there."
On getting a late start: "I started racing only when I was 14, which is quite late compared to everybody. But my dad really wanted me to take it as a game when I was a kid, and the day I asked to do some racing, he told me, first you have to be good at school, and then we will see."
Any regrets? "Looking behind, I don't think it was a mistake. I'm happy with my career, I was always in the right time at the right place except Formula One.
What's so great about racing? "It's a passion. It's inside of your body. When the engine starts and I am in the racing car, every vibration makes me feel the real time, the present time, and I like it a lot. It's something special. When you can control yourself, control your car, and make one piece with everything, it's just such a good feeling that you don't want to leave it!"
What's it like in a Formula One paddock? "It's very hard because you travel a lot, you have a lot of time alone, and there is no time for rest or fun. It's working hard. And then the other side, glamor is of course there especially in Monte Carlo, where you feel that the feeling around the track is special. And on Sunday evening you have a bit of time to party and relax and get ready for the next race."
What's up with Romain's new style? "My style hasn't been fixed yet. I try different hairstyles, some are a bit crazy. It's not only about racing, it's about personal life and how you feel, and you have to feel well in your body before anything else. "
On his love of cooking: "It's a way to give love and pleasure to the people that you cook for, and a way as well to relax myself"
