Shooting the H&K UMP45 Submachine gun by Nutnfancy

Putting a few rounds downrange with a H&K UMP45 subgun on some steel. Cal is .45 ACP and trigger module is semi, 2 shot burst, and full. Normally this UMP has a red dot on it, it was temporarily removed. It doesn't hinder us much though. Recoil is more stout that a 9mm MP5 or UMP9 but manageable. Weight is excellent (very light). @MrChamp51 The 5.56x45mm is much more effective than the .45 ACP. All handgun rounds suck compared to a rifle, even your beloved .45 ACP.

@darthbilly97 Yeah it's a lot of fun. I had the opportunity to fire a few boxes of ammo through a full-auto MP5 and had a blast. It gets expensive very quickly though -- I burned through $50 of ammunition (and this was super-cheap 9mm FMJ range stuff) in just a couple of minutes.

Everyone should do it at least once in their lives (find a local range that rents full-auto), but semi-auto is all a civilian needs for 99% of situations.

@xPlasmio No, the 4.6x30mm is about 1/3 as powerful as the 5.56x45mm. It fires a 31-grain bullet at 2,350 fps. Compare this with the 5.56, which launches a 62-grain bullet at 3,100 fps.

The 4.6x30mm round (and its competitor the 5.7x28mm) is specifically designed for a submachine gun to increase range and armor-piercing capability over the typical pistol cartridges normally used in this role.

It still sucks compared to a rifle firing even a small cartridge like the 5.56x45mm.
