yep thats toyama-ryu but looks abit odd compared to the way it is performed by alot of other toyama pracitioners... these forms will be the version dapted from the original gunto soho forms by the look of it... subtle differences... good spirit and focus, looks a great day for tameshigiri :)

I think its a Montsuki instead of a iaigi. Those have the family or school mon (crest), hence the name. Plus you are supposed to use a formal hakama as well, when you use the montsuki. Then again; those dont come cheap and you cant use them until you get san-dan.

Is it me or are the guys first cuts not very clean? The last guy. His second ones look alright but the first two seemed a bit off...
Not impressed with the geezer who walked in front of the filming ¬_¬ Rude much?
Anywhos, thanks for posting, I enjoyed watching this. :D

Every one of them does have good form, thank you for posting mekugi.

Not only is his Hakama cool but I really like his Dogi/Keiogi, look at it, it has his family mon (crest) on it. Very traditional!

Awesome, this has to be the best tameshigiri video here in Youtube.
Beautiful day for tameshigiri! But no kabutowari? That makes me sad :(

Why would they use a kabutowari for tameshigiri? It doesn't cut.

@mightydagon The Japanese don't care about Kabutowari anymore because Toshishiro Obata broke the record with an American sword.
