From a Royal Command Performance in the 1970s, with the usual corpsing from Dudley. Picture quality is fairly poor but bearable.

One of the best comedy sketches in the history of man. Period.

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore FTW.

I remember this sketch in 1971 when the (Australian) ABC showed a series of 'Not only ..but also'. But considering the number of times this sketch is shown here, I'm amazed that the punchline was omitted. Just as Dud. was leaving the interview, Pete called out words to the effect: 'Please call in the applicant for the part of Long John Silver.'

Thank you for sharing, it's one of the best characters Peter Cook ever invented and Dudley Moore was the perfect man for performing this role - he is so cute!
