Gun right is the birth right! Government deprives people's many birth rights, the gun right is just one of them. The deprivation of gun right is for easy tax and ease of governing! Since it is people's birth right, people by themselves have the right to choose gun or not! Not neighbor or government or such lousy hostess! She should go for job training to learn proper speech speed and manner!
Freedom and democracy are won by blood. The democracy can not be promoted by just one renowned Nobel Prize Winner! Do you (people in Taiwan) embrace gun right in Taiwan?
To empower people gun right, then people have real power to discuss real democracy in a free society. There is no free democracy, people in power will not grant its people freedom and right. Tax and more power are what they want. Please read the history.
We vote for the future, not the past. Just as we deal with the Japan from the future perspectives, not past. I think DPP has made enough of points regarding the old KMT's wrong doing. Further instigation only disrupts the future harmony. We should focus our energy on how we can produce a Nobel laureate from Taiwan, not from Taiwan-born but US trained.
Furthermore, DPP is in fact a worse party than the KMT in many aspects. That is why we need other parties, however, it is not easy to form new parties that can be popular enough to counteract the existing parties. Same thing in the US.
When retrospect the history, we should always look at the both sides. The old KMT (Chiang era) although did some bad deeds, their overall accomplishments in Taiwan certainly outweighed the dark side. One fact no one can dispute is that if it weren't KMT, Taiwan would have been under the CCP. Of course, no one can dispute that they (KMT) shouldn't have been so heavy handed. But, even the current US government is still somewhat heavy handed in may respects of national matters.
Lee's political participation is admirable. He should have taken the job as a premier offered by president Chen. This way he may be able to advise Chen better. However, from his overall opinions, he is biased against KMT. Counterbalancing KMT is not correct at this time. Because the current KMT is very different from the old KMT. Also the DPP is the party in power at present, which should be counter balanced by an opposing party, which is now the KMT.

Who is evil is the matter of relativity.
Whoever uses this word to instigate people is no different from Bin Laden that group.
There is only evil in human society, because we define evil by will. Basically, whoever goes against your benefit is evil to different extents.
