@Heyde1979 I think there is a "silent test" feature. I was once at my college's administration building one day, back when they had a Simplex 4020 system (it has since been replaced with a new Notifier panel), and they had the signals disabled when they were testing the building system so they wouldn't disturb the faculty. The technician would test the pulls and smoke detectors, then radio with the other tech at the panel via walkie-talkie to know if the system was in alarm or not.

yeah a huge mechanics garage...they fix all kinds of stuff. the FA was in the small engine shop.

because i was doing the annual inspection and the bells were disabled at the time.
