What the video doesn't show is how fast the water was rising. One minute the dog is standing on a thin concrete platform of some sort with the water about a foot below his paws, and then about 10 minutes later, the water is up to the poor baby's elbows! The rescuers were on the bridge above huddled together trying to figure out how to get the dog out of there, while the dog is just standing there looking up at them. (to be continued)...

Thats a great video. And what people should realize is, that this is TERRIFIC PRACTICE EXERCISE for the Chopper Pilot and the RESCUE worker. A REAL LIVE drill and a real LIVE animal. Next time, it could be a CHILD in that Canal, the real deal, and the rescue guy will be prepared to do his job even better. Its a WIN WIN... everyone wins here.

@gold95 I think you assume too much. Yes, there are people who might not care about the larger picture. But you can't presume that about those who comment here. I rehabilitate dogs and cats before helping them to get adopted precisely because my city has no shelters that are 'no kill'.
So, generalize if you must, but it isn't so because you say so.
