Tony Royster Jr and Mark Peric trade chops

Brisbane Jam Nite at Alloneword Tony Royster Jr came along and had a bit of a jam with the Brisvegas Musos include Brisbane's own Mark Peric on Bass. The place was off the hook as TRJ and P-Rok really gave it heaps. Truely an AMAZING night. :)

Are you kidding? He is in pocket in most of his fills unless he choses to be behind or infront of the beat. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)

If you understand time signatures, yes he's definitely stickin to the groove. However, I'm a firm believer of "less is more."

Anyone can do less. It's how to do more tastefully that is an art. That is also what separates and good drummer from a great drummer. This isn't to insult you. This is to let you know that if you sit in a rut then you don't grow as a musician. I've been playing drums a long time. I could see other younger musos getting better than me. So I reinvented my playing to suit. This involed learning to solo and trade musical chops etc. You learn to be more creative / percussive.
