My Wedding Ring Story

Hi my lovelies!
I decided to record this video , because I get asked about why I don't wear an engagement / wedding rings all the time. I got a bit tired of explaining it to everyone individually, so I decided to share my opinion on this subject in a video.

The De Beers Company first created the saying "A Diamond Is Forever." In the late nineteen forties. So it hasn't been even a 100 year tradition of giving diamond rings when getting married. N.W. Ayer is the one who came up with the slogan.

I agree with you! I would still like a ring when I get married, for all the symbolic reasons. But I DON'T CARE how expensive it is... I mean I want a niceish one that won't tarnish over time but I definitely don't want it to cost an arm and a leg. It's just a ring. Although my boyfriends has mom told us she'd be ashamed if her son bought a ring worth less than $5k.. I suspect we'll just get a cheaper one and tell her that it cost more, ha! No wedding band though, I think just one ring is enough.

Sorry but I completely disagree! "It's just a ring it doesn't mean anything to me" That ring symbolizes your marriage. I'm not saying what you think is stupid, but if you hate diamonds so much, just get a nice cheap ring without a diamond (that's what my did but only because she lost the other 2 my dad bought her so she decided to get a cheap one, just a band i guess?) I don't care how expensive my wedding ring will be or how nice or whatever, just as long as theres something there to symbolize.

Not all diamonds come from Africa, and you being from Canada should know that we have world renowned diamonds. Nobody gets killed over the mining of Canadian diamonds.
