Me being a closet fan of "Sound of Music", we simply had to make our way to Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont whilst we were in USA. Glorious August days in the mountains. Ben & Jerry's factory. Cycling. I was totally exhausted from driving all the way from and back to NY and my wife, true to her form, was shocked to learn that Maria von Trapp did not make any money directly from the film.

@PeterPiper00 I work at the lodge, and I can tell you that if you take one of our history tours, you will get to meet some of the real von Trapps...and although it is a little bit pricey to stay at the lodge, it's cheaper in the spring, and there are also specials throughout the year that make it cheaper to stay there...

I spent part of my honeymoon at the Trapp Lodge in Stowe and although it was a little pricey I found it to be well worth every cent. The staff is top of the line. The cuisine was superb and you don't get down stuffed comforters 2 ft thick at the holiday inn. I wish I had a third thumb so I could give the Trapp Lodge 3 thumbs up.

Visit the place but don't bother staying there. They now charge $250 a night to stay over at the lodge. And you won't meet any of the real von Trapps there.

Hm, the music around 3:20 is from the Japanese Anime version of Trapp Family Story, right? ;-)
