Art in Nature / the Nature of Art Festival is a FREE multidisciplinary performing arts Festival conceived for the Stream Trail of Redwood Regional Park, Oakland, California.

It will be held on October 2nd, 2011 from 11pm to 5pm as a site-specific performance organized by SAMAVESHA, an international multidisciplinary performing arts collective, and directed by renowned Italian composer and artistic director Laura Inserra.

Art in Nature / the Nature of Art will be structured as a site-specific series of interactive events. The public is invited to move through several installations and to both watch, listen, and/or participate. These activities will not be on a set schedule but ongoing, facilitating a flow based on people's interest. Events include storytelling, watching artists create work, dance, music, martial arts, circus, theater and activities particularly suited for children of various ages.

'Art in Nature' - different expressions of art performed as site-specific works through meadows and redwoods.

'The Nature of Art' - artists revealing their creative sense, techniques, and the tools they use, providing unique insights into the artistic process.
