  • :P this guy says to use turpentine as a mixing medium?!

    note to would-be painters: turpentine is designed to break down paints on your brush, if you mix it in with your paints on the canvas, what do you think will happen? (hint: it will break down the paints)

    Use linseed oil to thin your oil paints, that is basically the "glue" that keeps your pigments together, so if you add more, it will keep the integrity of your paint as well as allow you to create smooth washes.
