  • wow, this tells me a lot about the process. I never thought there was so much to it. This might sound dumb, but I also wondered for a long time how they did the effect of those puppets making moves in midair without using strings or anything. I figured it was something a bit more sophisticated, but now that I know what you did from the PIP frame, it seems so simple now. Great video!

  • @z33k980m8 Yes I know what you mean! for I long time I never understood how it was done either! this is really my first attempt at using a rig for mid air shots, I removed it kind of roughly in this test but i'm pretty happy with how it works. I made it out of an old light :)

  • My favorite one is the the finished puppet test at 0:46, I love the way you animated him lazily laying down, it has so much character, almost feels like a real animal. The way he shuts his eyes and arches his back...it's very naturalistic and full of personality. All the animations are running properly for me now by the way :D .I'm really, really excited about seeing more as the project develops.

  • @MrByronDunbar I like that shot a lot too and I'm very happy with the emotion within the final fleshed puppet. Thanks a lot for the comments bryon I really appreciate it!

  • @totallynothere No problem, I really enjoy seeing your progress as I've always admired stop motion. You are good at many forms of art, but I feel you have a particular flair for stop motion. It's fun encouraging an artist as they're beginning to develop their craft. By the way, I saw the animatic on your blog today and really enjoyed it. :)
