"If you have a feeling that something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up." - Fred Korematsu
My daughter created this video for a 2007 high school project on the internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII. Over pictures from the camps, she overlaid an audio interview of Dr. Mary Oda, now in her 80's, who was forced to leave UC medical school for internment at Manzanar.
A Japanese American man says, "had other Americans had courage to speak out.."(against human injustice),he says Rememberance Day and this Dialogue about violations of human rights would be unnecessary today.I agree about apologizing, but also question how many of the Japanese Americans kept quiet about or justified Japanese invasions, colonialism, and slavery in rest of Asia for half a century before WWII? Are they doing enough today about Japanese Government's Whitewashing of History?

This is a brilliant video. It just shows how stereotypes ruin lives. "They're Japanese they might be helping Japan!" "All Native Americans are savages." "Jews are responsible for our suffering!" Then people suffer because they are thought to be something they are not. Great video.
