Yor spanish is very good, you just need to keep practicing. Your accent is that of a Mexican American.

I wan't to learn Spanish so bad! I'm a freshman in college now and by the time I graduate I want to be fluent in Spanish. i will get a higher paying job being Bilingual in Spanish/English in the work force in America. Because everyone speaks English or Spanish , but most people only know one or the other. Me knowing both will be AWESOME :D

That's why we people have names, I think it would be better say "it's me Mary, speaking Spanish" or Emily, or David or whatever name, color doesn't matter is you what matters. on the other hand your Spanish is very good, as you said it's a question of practising
Hey, yeah, you're not African-American. You're black.
I find it a tad ridiculous that people refer to themselves as African American. You do not call white people European Americans, and I doubt you have ever set foot in Africa. Regardless, you're black. I'm from South Africa and now live in the states so I think I have more right to call myself African-American than you.

@MaizeJayhawk I find it crazy that people care what other people call themselves...

you have an accent, I will know right away that you are an African American the British or English is carried over to the Spanish because you are not a native from Latin America. Keep up the good work, It's going to be hard for you not to have an accent even if you speak Spanish fluently for many years we will recognize that you are an American or from another country.
