  • The problem with switch kicks is that they are telegraphed more so than stepping and kicking. If you mix them with feints then it can help set them up but straight up switch kicking consistently makes it easy to see coming.

  • @strafer Yes. Leading off with a switch kick is not fast enough. especialy at 195lbs. 145-155maybe in Thailand its been done with a KO. Ive been successfull throwing a fast jab or faking a flick jab to the head and then throwing it. Or else a lead right cross . Thanks for the info.

The bouncing on the left foot; ccan you help me visualize this a little more in detail ? I can do what you tell me as long as I can visualize it. The left shoulder I understand. Kru Nestor emphasized that a lot. I think I was tired here, did pads and sparring prior. Thank you . Mike

  • Wow, solid muay thai from a big, white guy! Don't listen to any shit talking from stupid people. I'm telling you your technique is correct. You're on the ball of your foot, you drive with your hip, you're flexible etc....... Watch how many stupid youtubers try to pick apart your solid technique.

  • Weird thing is my switch kick is faster than my normal. It might be due to be being dominant in soccer with my left, but the odd thing is, my right is stronger

  • I don't know if it's because you're working on just that one kick for the camera or if you do it all the time, but I recommend pulling back faster, you should whipping your foot/shin off the bag and bringing it back so you're 1) guarded 2) ready to throw punches and 3) not in a vulnerable position if you miss in a real fight. Just what my trainers told me. But otherwise the kick itself is very crisp and I see good hip rotation, keep up the good work.

  • don't move your left shoulder when you kick, it telegraphs your intentions. concentrate more on your hip rotation and the bouncing motion of your left foot from the ground. Remember, whole body into it.
