Charted at #6 on Billboard Hot 100 in November 1956. This was George's first hit and his biggest on the Hot 100. Although he charted several more times on the Hot 100, he became even more successful as a country singer, having many hits on the Billboard Country chart throughout the 1960's and 1970's.

Written by John D. Loudermilk.

B-side is "If You Don't Know".

  • I didn't realise, until now George was putting out records in the 1950's. I discovered him in the 1960's. He does this song well. The writer John D Loudermilk, was certainly a prolific penner of catchy tunes as wel as being a singer in his own right.

  • @lateforbreakfast I'm guessing this was one of Loudermilk's first hits, if not his first. Yes, this is the record that made George Hamilton IV famous, the teens really related to it.
