This church is one of the reasons I want to become a priest... so I can fix these God-forsaken liturgical abuses! If I am worthy of being ordained, and am assigned to a church like this, first thing I'm doing... good-bye, center altar! I just can't stand the idea of celebrating a Mass facing the people instead of God! Second thing... incense, gothic vestments, and surpliced altar boys are in! These bathrobe/vestments are too tacky for liturgical use!

The ultimate thing about this is that the Holy Mass is being transported in between heaven and earth quite literally, going back and watching the one sacrifice of Christ made present again upon the altar of God. Therefore, one should feel as if they are between heaven and earth, humbled and awed before the might of God. that is not superstition, that is reverence... and I attend the Novus Ordo Missae, because my parish priest does it without liturgical abuse!

Saced Tradition was established by God, and developed over centuries by man with God's guidance. You really think Christ just handed the full versions of all our most sacred rituals on a plate? No! It took twenty centuries of God's guidance to develop them from the simplest actions into what they are now, and this Rock Mass is going backwards! But they were the same actions, just down to the basics; basic is effective, but the more elaborate, the more pleasing it is to God.

Technically, we don't eat wafers; we eat the Body and Blood of Christ, so your wrong. An I blelieve the Book of Revelation mentioned something about worship in heaven involving incense and white robes!

I hate wafer eaters!!! The catholic church is a joke!!! Does GOd really need all that incense ,bells and rituals and repetitive prayers? I don't think so!! He wants your hearts!! Christ was against all the crap Catholics do!! I'm sorry but Christ did not establish this Church or any Church he wants to establish a relationship we you and to obey HIS commandments not the pope he is just a sinful man just like all of us!! Christ did not want to establish a kingdom on Earth but the past pope ruled

I LOVE MY ROCK CHURCH FAMILY!! Wow, can't wait to come back for another visit. St. Alphonsus "Rock" Church truly a Godsend! Which choir is this: 8:15 or 11:00? I think its Voices of Praise. Old video, though. We gotta do another soon.

Of course, the last supper was a most somber event and was recited all in Latin, wasn't it?

Most of your rituals are based on Medieval superstition and notions harking back to the Dark Ages.

Like the morbid cult of relics and the "indulgences" ...these were all later perversions that the Church picked up along the way, these notions had NOTHING to do with Christ.

Many of the "rituals" you mock were established by Christ Himself and were a part of Holy Mother Church long before your ideas and your church was even thought of. You do not understand Christianity.

Yeah, I do wonder what God thinks of pompous sanctimonious traditionalists who think they have one over everyone else. I think Jesus was quite clear on how He felt towards such people.
