The following video explains how Derren Brown achieves his lottery trick / scam. He does not predict the numbers before the draw. The balls he displays initially...

The video is split into 2 shortly after the initial sequence... Derren mis directs you to the right side of the screen, where the lotto draw is happening and derren is acting 'surprised' at the numbers being drawn.

It's entirely possible to have a camera film a fixed shot, and have software do the 'shaking / movement of the cam' - thus the overlay of the static white balls could be also moving in sync with the cams movements.

While the lotto numbers are being read out, off of camera there is someone putting the (49 pre numbered) correct balls onto a new rack. At some point during the video the racks are swapped... you can see on most of the uploaded videos that are high quality, that around 6:02-6:04 there is a momentary pause / freeze of the movement (a couple of seconds) followed by movement again... before and after this pause the end left ball (39) moves upwards slightly without anyone 'supposedly touching it'. The balls would not move on their own.

Instead, whats happening is that the live left side of the footage is resynced / the overlay removed... and thus you go from a pre-recorded static set of balls to the real set, which has a slight change in position on one of the balls, noticable if you flick back and forth fast on a high quality vid.

This will be how he did the trick... all his previous 'clues' in his videos / websites led to nothing. He only knew the numbers after the draw tonight.

However, on Friday he will tell us 'how it was done'.

But... I honestly don't think he will tell you how he 'really did it', instead he will give a whole entertaining show, feeding you some long story about how he made his predictions based on several events / statistics... which you will observe and believe.

You see the real trick with this one, is the ability to prove to you afterwards 'why he picked those numbers' / 'how he picked those numbers'.

We all know HOW he did the trick tonight (hell Paul Daniels could of done that one!) as explained in this vid... but the true trick will be on friday giving us a false 'explaination' for tv purposes.

Is how easy it would be to influence staff at the lottery to help you cheat. Hence the perfectly made lotto balls and the pics etc.

Obviously impossible himself the predict the lottery. He wanted to show how it could be done, without actually telling us the main reason behind it.

Its all balls yes.
