Flight to San Francisco from Kansai, Japan, at the end of the summer season, on board a United B777-222ER. The flight time was approximately 8 hours 55 minutes, and we landed ILS 28L into San Francisco International Airport. It was a good landing, and the "time-lapse" as we crossed the International Date Line was quite spectacular to view as well.

* The rattling that you all hear during takeoff and a small portion of the landing is because of the camera lens being up against the slightly loose bracketing of the window.

Thanks for viewing.

~ Cheers, Steve.

  • Awesome!! I didn't hear any reverse thrust on landing, just breaking. (?)

  • @dave4shmups If you listen closely at around 2:22, you can hear the whine of the engines switching over to reverse thrust as the spoilers come up. Thanks for watching!

  • ahhh old plane :( lol

my videos from LHR-SFO-LHR use to be up but i chnaged my youtube acount soo need to upload them all soon!:L

  • I wish United would adopt it's Old Colors scheme again, with the orange and blue stripes on white. That, and the United Friendship livery are my favorite.

  • That landing looked really really smooth. How'd it feel from on the plane?

  • The landing also felt smooth from my perspective in the Economy class cabin as well. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

  • This is the route that I always take when I fly to and from Japan too. I've always flown United.

  • Just three mins... That was a short flight.

  • @SSSCLimitedTrademark as a matter of fact, i don't think they use the reverser all the way, just enough but not too much that it doesn't produce roar from the engines so the residents around the air ports won't go crazy. I watch them land a whole lot at Narita but I never hear the full roar of the engines when they touch down.

  • Neat!
