DAVID BECKHAM left American players and fans in awe after scoring a 70-yard wonder goal.

The LA Galaxy star let fly with Kansas City keeper Kevin Hartman caught upfield looking for a last-minute equaliser.

Beckham took a couple of touches before belting the ball into an empty net to seal a 3-1 win.

LA striker Landon Donovan said: "I can't imagine anyone else scoring that kind of goal."

Galaxy pal Chris Klein said: "He does it 10 or 15 times a day in training."

England midfielder Becks, who is likely to face the USA at Wembley on Wednesday, loves scoring long-range goals.

He netted from the halfway line for Manchester United against Wimbledon in August 1996.

  • @Javadamutt My point was that Jermaine Jenas is a centre midfielder, not a winger, so I was pointing that fact out that you cannot compare him to the others.

  • @MarcSAFCCUFC I don't understand the point of your comment. A truly great winger can either push up and attack like a wing forward or cross the ball after either beating his man or hitting early and catching the central defenders off guard. Walcott and SWP where ment to play that role but lack the vision and decision making. Beckham could beat his man and deliver a killer ball which England have really lacked. If only Bale was english he would possibly be the all round package

  • @MarcSAFCCUFC all english goalkeepers are horrible. simple as that

  • @Javadamutt "Beckham, skill lies in accuracy of delivery and dead ball situations, both something England don't have with walcott, wright-phillips and jenas" Walcott and SWP are wingers, Jenas is a center midfielder, not similar play at all.

  • @malcom425 "a garbage goal". Oh dear, if you're talking about Robert Green then be quiet, he's not even our first team keeper and look at the mistakes Howard, Friedel, Keller and Hahnemann have made over the years.

  • @kb19kb19 we would have to see him in nets letting in a garbage goal to confirm that he is english

  • u guys think that's good?? when he was at man utd he scored from a similar positon, HOWEVER it wasn't an open goal!

  • @ahmadbinosman Strong?

The ball needed 4 seconds for the way.

The distance is around 60-70 meters. ( A football/soccer field is around 50 meters long, he´s behind the halfway line, so i added 10-20 meters.)

    So...this is a slow shot...15-17,5 m/s are around 52-63 km/h.

    Not strong, but accurate.

  • why becks ever went to play footy in the usa...no one will ever know.....

the quality of 'soccer'(said in a wee gay american accent) is dreadful....nearly as bad as the quality in scotland!..and it is shite football!

  • it says its 60yards out u dick head get it right dum dum lol:)
