thanks ...although i do not think salt or any seasoning is used in cleaning a yixing tepot...but only boiling water...chinese say to nurture your teapot and it will nurture you......clay teapots come from the elements around us, no chemicals was used other than the content of the clay...if tea was added over its usage then it simply is giving your teapot its added tea protection...o and by the way tea leaf also can be a cleaner...just rub it in the teapot body...

Thank you for this detailed information and instructional video. I recently ordered a Yixing tea pot and am awaiting it's arrival, I did not know how to wash it, it is kind of like an iron skillet in the sense that you do not use soap to was it.

The seasoning is very important, thank you so much, this is very helpful :)
