"what its like to get self-ligating braces". Our Dr does NOT like the "Damon System", the first self-ligating brackets, as some of them peel and need to be replaced. He uses another brand, but the concept is exactly the same. Here braces are on, and the assistant is opening each latch (each brace has a latch in self-ligating braces). The wire will go on, and the latches will be snapped closed to keep the wire in place. This replaces the outdated "rubber band" system and is better for the teeth as it keeps them cleaner, less bacteria build up. Also may have less discomfort and possibly faster results.
