Thierry Mugler innovates with architectural, anatomic cuts. He respects the body. "Dance taught me a lot about body language, the importance of shoulders, how to hold the head, walk and place your legs; these sensations helped me create an essential fashion style that is both functional and refined. Fashion is like a daily personal 'performance'.
"More and more fashion is not enough... I try to convey sensations, a feeling I am always telling stories. Stories of men and women: whether female or male spies, madonnas, heroes, young Parisian girls or secretaries, I create clothes that men and women will wear on their adventures. I imagine protagonists and I direct them."
