Super Mario RPG level 3 challenge, 26: BELOME AGAIN!

Belome is defeated again in Belome Temple.

This is a run of mine on Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (for the SNES) where I complete the level 3 challenge, which means beating the game with Mario at level 3. I play on ZSNES, but only use save states when I need to avoid gaining experience in the egg game. Consider this a visual walkthrough for successfully completing the challenge.

You've been getting REALLY lucky with the experience mini game. You haven't had to redo a battle yet, or at least on recording.

@CandleHaze: Heh, I'll just assume you noticed I use a savestate before I choose the egg to make sure I won't end up getting the Yoshi or bird. :P I wouldn't want a repeat of my level 3 run on my cart, where I was stuck on Johnny for a week ONLY because of the egg game, and having to fight Culex 10+ times ONLY because of the egg game.

I'm surprised you don't use Bowser's Terrorize ever, it cuts the enemy's attack and defense in half if fear is inflicted, it would really help you out...

@Pigtard: fair point. I think I'm generally just in a "beat the boss as fast as possible" mode all the time, so my instinctive response with Bowser is to attack. Also, it usually seems to miss a lot for me on bosses, so I usually don't find it worth the try. However, I might end up trying it a bit when battle strategy starts degrading to Star Egg + healing.

Is there a way to get double Exp. every time and never get double coins? I notice you've gotten double exp EVERY time and never get double coins... I just save state right before the end of the battle, but I'm just morbidly curious if there's a way.

Mario's is actually the easiest to time for me, compared to Bowser at least. It's timed by guarding halfway down his second jump. Don't know if you know this now or not so just saying.... Bowser also has two attack methods whereas Mario only has one so it is a lot easier to predict the same timing.
