Once the wars come to an end...we as a nation are stuck with an overly populated military and federal jobs/contracts. Unemployment will nearly double because you dont like "war." It is needed because of people that are not willing to fight for their freedom. By this I do not mean signing up to be on the winning side of a slaughter. There is no honour in blindly following orders to suppress people.

As far as 'doing the jobs the rest of us can't' and statements like that are concerned I could think of a few other jeers that make me want to barf more, but not many. I have been cursed with knowledge from an early age and am not from the USA and I still signed up for the draft. Even if the egotistical mindset that I can not get into the military were anywhere near close to being true it still lacks any validity whatsoever.

@LastCynicStanding I don't agree with the war, either, and I know it's about protecting American "interests" (cough, "oil") in the Middle East. But it's still appropriate to publicly thank the few, who, as Whatup5656 put it, do the jobs the rest of us can't bring ourselves to do. If this were 'shameless propaganda' the commercial would be playing on our fears or drumming up support for the war itself.

I can be hauled off and imprisoned without trial for any number of things that the Constitution is supposed to protect and so can you. How far does it have to go before you drop that 'protect your freedom' line? I do not need any protection from Libya or Iraq or Afghanistan or Somalia or any other group of people other than the bank that you blindly obey to get your paycheck.
