Guys, look. This isn't going to happen. And it sure as hell isn't going to be made with MGS4's graphics.

Just download blueMSX and a translated ROM file of both games. Or play it on Disk 2 on MGS3: Subsistence for the PS2.

A remake is not necessary at all. 8-Bit graphics for the win!

This petition has kinda run it's course now, and it was even made before MGS4 came out haha. I have the origonals on Subsistence and I love them. Now mentioning Subsistence that brings me back to memories of old MGO... Good times

I mean, of all the things you could be petitioning, of all the terrible things the government does nothing about that can be stopped if the people just speak up, and you choose to fight for an unnecessary remake of a VIDEO GAME?!

Sorry if I sound to preachy, but between this, the Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Boycott, it just makes me mad that our rights are being misused.

I'm not going to take your comment the wrong way ok, I understand that I could be helping the people by petitioning against government acts etc. And I know how corrupt they are, Besides the point there are already plenty of petitions out there, this is something different, something I love and I've seen alot of support from Metal Gear fans towards this video.

It would be amazing if they remade those two games in MGS4 quality. We'd get to play as a rookie Snake when he was only about 20. Basically just a kid who has to take on the man considered the best soldier in the world.

The good: Get to play as Solid Snake when he was a rookie, fight Gray Fox before he went ninja, Snake vs Big Boss in the final fight.

The bad: Ridiculous bosses, even for MGS standards! and the story line is changed from these old games so the original's plot must be changed.

Despite the problems a remake would pose, these games should still be made! Oh and more gameplay/less cutscenes would be good!

Kojima REALLY needs to do this. Think of all the fun everyone (him included) could have with this, especially as far as updates to the formula! Besides, he rereleases pretty much every other game in the series, so why not these two? Also, any chance Nintendo will release Snake's Revenge for VC? After all, MG wouldn't still be alive today if it weren't for them.

Fuck that. No thanks. Twin Snakes is enough for me, and the first Metal Gear Solid is fine as it is anyway. Why would anyone ask for a remake of MGS1 when we have Twin Snakes and two Metal Gear games over 20 years old ? Remake Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

Would be so epic to have a Metal Gear remake.. maybe they could start developing that after the story of Big Boss until that point is completely told (I don't know how much OP we still need to reach there, I never played one unfortunately). A ps3 game would be welcome but I would surely even buy a Psp just to play it!

Portable Ops a side game? It follows into the main storyline and is as good a game as the console based MGS games...

Anyhow, I'm interested in a remake, and Kojima has announced that it may just happen, but not under his supervision, which shouldn't be a problem since the only concern for Kojima not working on the remake would be less quality put into the story, but seeing as the story is already laid out in the first place that shouldnt be an issue. He didnt do anything on Twin Snakes.

Agreed. Most mgs fans havent played MG1 or 2. Also, theyre quite outdated. BB doesnt have any resemblence to his MGS3 personality. His other side isn't shown.

in mg2 he never makes mention of being snakes father, even though snake said he did tell him in zanaibar in MGS1. :/

Also, in MGS1 when snake was talking about the fistfight with grey fox... it sounded so epic. middle of a mine feild, explosions all around, a broken metal gear in the background, fight to the 'death' . but in reality no.

Not true. MGS2 was planned to go along with MGS1. THAT game was supposed to end the series. That is, until people started bitching about how there were too many loose ends, while completely forgetting that that was the point.

Don't get me wrong. MGS3 and 4 ruled. They just pale in comparison to MGS2 (especially 4.)

Anyway, I simply don't see Konami remaking these games. At most, they're re-release the Subsistence versions. somehow.

if they were to remake them they should combine them into one game and have the first one kind of like the first chapter that would take up about a third or quater of the entire game, kinda like the virtuous mission and the tanker chapter. I would really like to see it happen one way or the other though not that i dont like the originals but id rather seee them do this than add unecessary future events after mgs4
