Bread is a band which emerged in the early 70's, but are known primarily for their ballads. Such songs as "I Want To Make It With You", "If", and "Everything I Own" were the songs with which they had the most commercial success. However, Mother Freedom is a real rocker when compared to the rest of Bread's music. This happens to be my favorite Bread song.

I would like to make special mention of "fredthejunkman" (Dave) who stepped in to help out with the background vocals. Dave has always been great with finding those vocal parts that most of us average singers just don't seem to be able to get a handle on, and he has a great singing voice on top of it all. If you aren't familiar with Dave's work, check out "fredthejunkman" right here on the tube and you'll be happy you did. THANKS DAVE!!! YOU DA MAN!!!

The Players:

Tim Grogg - Drums
Dave McConnell - Background Vocals
Larry Curtis - Guitars, Bass, Lead Vocal

  • This was a band I have always liked .....

Great cover guys ....... I like how you guys did the stereo separation in the beginning .

    Nice all around

  • @dgcmusi Thanks Dave. I tried to get as close to the original mix as I could with the stereo separation because I have always loved they way they engineered it. I think I was able to come fairly close. Thanks again.

  • wow, ronnevankeekan really nailed you guys in looks

  • Ron is a great painter isn't he? Thanks for your comment, and be sure to check out Ron's page if you haven't already.../ronvankeeken

  • Sorry LC - I meant DIG, not DID the bass flip.

PS and take this in the complimentary way I always mean it, the lead vocal sort of has that AXEL snarl, which is sort of cool. Just don't start to sing

"I found her diary underneath a tree"

    because you'll start a riot.

    Wholely Mholey

Dig the bass flip at 2:17 !!!!!!

    Shamma Lamma Ding Dong!

  • Don't worry mavis...I wasn't even considering singing Diary...HAHAHA. However...If a picture paints a thousand words....oh nevermind. HAHAHA. I have a lousy falsetto.
