Chadwick Newell of Newellton, Nova Scotia shows how to bait longline gear used to catch cod, cusk and halibut. Always buy hook caught fish and never ever buy fishsticks, patties or scallops that are not hand harvested. Thanks for caring about our oceans inhabitants. Derek

  • Hi, my name is Pulp, from Southampton U.K. My question is, have you problems with cetaceans in your fishing ground?. Thank you so much.

  • @tutfis No. Not at all as the populations slowly decrease. The by-catch of sharks, including Greenland Shark, has also become less of a problem as the polulations plunge.

  • @celticraider1 yu dont want them to...halibutare bottom feeders so they suck up food from the sea bed...thats why the mouth is located on the bottom of the head

  • really nice videos man !

  • is there any worry when setting the gear that the hooks will grab a snarl of line and take it over?

  • how strong is the mainline

  • holy snarl bait

  • Question guys, does the longline somehow float, keeping hooks slightly above the sea bed?

  • aren't clips easier?

  • Depends on if your right handed or left...
