Was stationed at Rockville, Iceland in 1972....(they even bulldozed my Rock)...always knew it was greener over the hill.

I wouldn't say the winter is less exciting, you get to see the northern lights(if you haven't seen them) and enjoy cold winter nights. I recommend going swimming or enjoying the hot tubs in the local swimming pools. It's the best in winter time.

OH my goodness. I went to Iceland in June 2007. It was the most amazing place I have ever been in my life. SOOOO Indescribably beautiful. I can't wait to go back. Anyone who has the chance to go definatley should.
