I saw Skynyrd 3 times before the crash. Birmingham '75 was most memorable. A crowd-surge sent about fifty people up on stage. I KNEW the concert was over. Ronnie Van Zant stepped to stage front and yelled "HOLD IT!" You could have heard a pin drop with 80,000 in Birmingham Stadium. " If they (the people on stage that couldn't get off) don't trip over any cords or mess with the guirtar players, THEY CAN STAY." That's how cool Lynyrd Skynyrd were.

strange choice of guitar for allen collins!he always uses the firebird/explorer,i seen him with a strat,& i think with a les paul once.not sure what kind that is hes playing!
