Massachusetts is considering a bill to add gender identity and expression to the states discrimination and hate crimes laws. For what is considered to be Americas most liberal state they sure are far behind. Several states and cities around the country already have protection for Transgender and Gender Queer folks on the books, including Colorado and New York City to name a few. However, opposition to this bill is growing, and their arguments are getting weirder and weirder.

  • I don't think the legislators are worried about trans people using the appropriate washroom. It's about men who will abuse it because men tend to do things like that. They'll legally argue that their gender identity is female so they can get in there.

  • I understand that worry... I don't want someone to abuse that law and come in to the restroom while i'm in there. But of the 11 states that offer this protections, there has been 0 incidents of men abusing this law to gain access to the ladies room.

  • How open minded and educated of you.

  • Well the sex she was BORN was FEMALE, just in the wrong body. And if you didn't know a penis is merely an overdeveloped vagina, there's really not that much difference. She what matters is this girl's heart, soul and brain, not just the physcial.

  • WHAT!?!?!?!? Its that easy?OMG no one ever told me that! Wow! All the years of my life wondering that!...jeez read a book

  • @DianaBoston thats sexist

  • Why should the comfort of 1/2 of 1% of the population (trans) be more important than the comfort of naturally born women?

  • @alloverthebored1 I'll hold it until I get home if you do. In fact, why don't we just dispose of all restrooms outside of private homes.

  • Slippery Slopes Are Fun!

  • @DevilWomanCake The argument should not be about if trans people are sexual predators but rather, if individuals can do what they want with their private property. The hyperbolic cries of rape and molestation are a straw man to the issue. I think it's sad people need and ask government to enforce laws as to where people may use the potty.

  • @ProConstitutioner It's a wonderful, free society where dumb assholes are allowed to say what they want. God bless freedom, even if we have to put up with dumb assholes like you.

  • The government should have no regulation over private property and queer people should not look towards the state for liberty or salvation. I can do what I want to my body and enter into consensual unions with whomever I want because my body is my most sacred piece of private property. If I am allowed to do what I want with my private property, I have to respect the rights of bigots and their segregated bathrooms, ie: *their" private property. The state is not the answer, voluntaryism is.

  • @ProConstitutioner That's a word, it's not like it's a long post, yet you spelled it wrong. That would be like a one word comment saying "fale".

  • It's a moot point that there would be people with different genetalia around the "poor defenseless girls" because you already have a bunch of 40 year-old men one urinal away from 7 year-olds. Their pretty defenseless, have the mens rooms become floodedwith paedophilia? no, because people have human decency

  • @coldbutnice I completely agree!
