Fighting Gems #4: Warzard/Red Earth

I think the intro's OK, but I may not ever use it again.
Anyway, this time we're taking a quick glance at Red Earth, one of the weirder fighting games. But it literally has gems, so it fits!

you showed hauzer in capcom fighting evolution but not tessa from snk vs capcom chaos. why? why did you put that game in front of my eyes! still, this was cool.

Well, they never really play up Tessa's roots in SvC Chaos or Pocket Fighter (aka Gem Fighter); I had to use a game that says that those guys come from Red Earth, and unfortunately, Capcom Fighting Evolution is that game.

Also, I wish that someone had told me that that game was bad; I just bought it two hours ago. I feel so...dirty...

Which? SvC Chaos is bad, Pocket Fighter and Capcom Fighting Evolution are awesome

SVC Chaos is broken, but Capcom Fighting Evolution was neutered and somewhat glitchy. The Pocket and Puzzle Fighter games are the only ones I would have used.

Well true SvC Chaos is broken but me and a buddy have some good fun with the game despite its flaws

There are four things I would like to say in SVC Chaos defence:

1) Every matchup has its own dialog, setting up the relationships between the characters rather well.

2) Dimitri's Midnight Bliss shows off female versions of all characters -- it's worth playing through for that alone.

3) Arremer transforms all characters into different monsters -- also kind of cool.

4) Classic Athena.

The only flaw in this game was having to go to the character select screen over and over again if you lost.

This game is cooler than Street Fighter because of its looks and I never have played it.
