  • is that milo minderbinder in the tree with yossarian?

  • The naked man in the tree actually is Alan Wolf Arkin - an actor. The other man is Jon Voight - an actor too.

  • The guy's name is actually 'Snowden' I believe.

  • No, I don't think I'd ever heard that name...

  • In the story it's "Snowden." He was the one who got shot in the plane, and Yosarrian tended the wrong wound. When he saw he had been shot in the chest, he removed his flak jacket and his guts spilled out. He also refers to him as "The dead man in my tent."

  • above, I just quoted Major Danby. ;)

  • It's an amazingly well-crafted film. The set-ups are audacious, the cinematography is immaculate (mostly shot between 2-3pm only) and the editing was planned ahead of time, like "The Graduate" and is very impressive. But it isn't the book - no film film could capture the book - but as a piece of grandiose Hollywood filmmaking with intelligence and style, it's a great piece of work, I feel.

  • best book ive ever read...such sarcasm!!!

  • @ultrakool M-A-S-H and Catch-22 definately two of the BEST anti-war films of the 1970's. Catch-22 was a nightly junior officers squadron ready room movie fav on the aircraft carrier I was on in the early 1970's. various senior officers aboard all acquired "behind their back" nick names from the movie's characters.

  • Olimpia Carlisi - incredibly beautiful!

  • 3:02 - 3:28. :)

  • Olimpia Carlisi. Magnificent.

  • @fenderkid6 yes its milo and yossarian

  • i'm awake now.

    danby=establishment military/industrial complex crony

major-major= laundry officer turned fascist corporate stooge

    father/father=moral leader

yosarian=fed up with the system kook

    makes perfect sense, now. ha

  • the characters in the film just dont seem as "un-hindged" as those in the book

  • @GordonMorrice you nailed it

  • as for the films, there's always been the m.a.s.h. vs. catch-22 debate. for me, i've always found mash raucous and c-22 intellectually humorous. i'll take intellectually humorous, anyday

  • @fenderkid6 Yes, Jon Voight plays Milo
