Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat Granada Theatre - Rory Gallagher tribute

I've seen most of 'em, and for my money, this is the best predominately "blues" band gigging in at least North Texas today (probably all of Texas, and maybe the country). This is a passionate homage to Rory, one of the greatest players of all time. Never thought I'd hear anyone cover Bullfrog Blues, can you imagine? Suhler is an incredibly versatile player, and here he shows his prowess on slide. Also killer "karate" bass from Carlton and very solid drumming. No keys on this one. If you have a chance to see this band, you will be favorably impressed. Also, the new CD, Tijuana Bible is a masterpiece.......buy it.

Please. Jim Suhler is fabulous all by himself..

But, he also gives props to, among others, Rory Gallagher --- the greatest blues/rock player after Hendrix.

seen these guys opening for george thorogood probally 15 years ago in edmonton alberta canada,they still soun d great!!!
