Exclusive Digital Bonus Footage (not available on the DVD) from Marco Benevento's first-ever DVD release: "Marco Benevento & Friends - LIve in NYC : The Sullivan Hall Residency".

On the last night of Marco's 5-night residency (having played every Thursday in January of 2008), he brought in his good friends Reed Mathis & Andrew Barr, with whom he recorded the bulk of "Invisible Baby". This show on 01.31.08 served as a CD Release party for the album, released on Hyena Records.
This version of Marco's original song "Are You The Favorite Person of Anybody?" shows the amazing depth of the song, as well as the particular talents of the trio.
Barr here displays his singular knack for simultaneous precision and unpredictability throughout the changing time signatures of one of Benevento's most ambitious songs. Mathis provides a gritty bass that swells with the urgency cascading from the piano as Benevento's fingers madly map out the parameters of this song. Midway through the song, the energy very nearly propels Benevento right off his piano bench, before he signals to Barr to break it down and take the song through another detour, before culminating in an emotional yet tightly orchestrated flourish that has become typical of this trio.

You can order the DVD direct from Marco's website, or else at Amazon.com. It features some of the most respected players in New York, including Billy Martin (MMW), Brad Barr (The Slip), Kaki King, Joe Russo, Andrew Barr, Stanton Moore (Galactic), Marc Friedman, Skerik, and many more...

Proudly brought to you by Shine A Light Productions and The Royal Potato Family.

Love Mathis' reaction to Barr 'teasing' 4/4 near the end.
