The Elder ALWAYS was great

The Elder represents KISS at its best. A vision and a over the top one at that. I remember the imagery the songs conveyed on my first listen back in '81. A great album. Great music. Not the usual KISS offering. It has a drive and it kicks your ass.

I LOVE THE ELDER! GREAT ALBUM. SHOULD BE PLAYED LIVE! In fact there really isn't any reason for me to go see them again. I've seen it all. But, if they started plaing stuff like Just a Boy or The Oath, I'd have to go.

Paul has been known to say that "The Elder" is a good album, it's just not a good KISS album...

I think Paul Stanley looked like he was going to cry - because The Fans knew it, and he had basically written it off! You could tell he was touched.

I was 12 or 13 when it came out, and I thought it was okay, but it didn't hit me as to how great of an album The Elder is until I listened to it a few years ago - and it is perhaps my favorite Kiss release. It was so far ahead of it's time that most of us who were kids just didn't get it.

KISS tries to separate themselves from The Elder because it was not a commercial success.
What happened was KISS forgot what the true fans expect of them and what attracted them in the first place.KISS was VERY MUCH IN CONTROL of The Elder....so when it flopped it was not Ezrin's fault ,not the label but there's!
But,all in all.... I do like The Elder.

Seriously, Paul & Gene: we have stuck by you through thick and thin. Stop acting as if we're assholes because we love "Music from the Elder." It is becoming a cult classic and sooner or later, you will have to own up to it and embrace it.
